World Flair Association, an international organization of bartenders, invited a Michaelean exchange student in Namhae College, Korea to perform in Daejeon International Bartender Champ 2008 at New Concept and Daejeon Convention Center on Oct. 3-4.

John Kenneth Isla (BSHM III) was spotted by one of the officials while he was practicing flairtending at Namhae. He was then invited in the competition where he represented both Korea and the Philippines.

Isla competed with fifteen others in the flair round. He was later joined by another Michaelean, Jerome Rio Villar in the team round. Although they did not make it, they were awarded a medal and a certificate. (Perry Delos Reyes)
