VPAR presents research in France

Dr. Flordeliza C. Reyes (SMCL Executive Vice President) presented her academic paper in Paris, France on July 2-4.

Dr. Reyes’ paper entitled “A Model of Teaching Expertise: The Philippine Experience was accepted for presentation in the International Conference on Excellence in Education 2008: Future Minds and Creativity.

The paper was endorsed by Commission on Higher Education for funding.

Incidentally, she also presented her academic paper on “Assessment of Research Capability and Productivity and their Relationship: Imperatives for Research Culture Management” at the 4th Network of CALABARZON Educational Institutions’ (NOCEI) Research Forum at Batangas State University on Nov. 21.

Two of the faculty researches were also invited in the forum: Mr. Rogelio R. Espino’s “Influence of Peer Tutoring in Tutees’ Academic Performance in College Mathematics” in the concurrent session, and Ms. Ness R. Cuevas’s “Beyond Giving, Nurturing, and Believing, a Redefinition of Community Extension Program: The SMCL Experience” in the poster presentation.

Both papers were also accepted in 4th International Conference on Research in Access and Developmental Education (San Juan, Puerto Rico) and 4th International Barcelona Conference on Higher Education (Barcelona, Spain) respectively.

The 4th NOCEI Research Forum was themed “Optimized Research Towards Economic Development.”

NOCEI is a non-stock, non-profit organization that aims to promote cooperation instead of competition among various state and private higher education institutions in Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal, and Quezon. The network has set up collaborative research projects among its 17 member-insitutions. (Carlo Mari Carrasco)
