Business dean leads PCDEB ‘08 officers

Dean Victor C. Manabat, (School of Business Administration) was elected president of the Philippine Council of Deans and Educators in Business (PCDEB).

Dr. Flordeliza C. Reyes (SMCL Executive Vice President) inducted the new set of officers at Hotel Dominique, Tagaytay City on July 25.

College deans and educators from Regions IV and V, representatives from the Commissioner on Higher Education (CHED) and different industry associations witnessed the induction.

The other officers elected were Associated Dean Zenaida V. C. Manuel of Saint Paul University Manila, Vice President – NCR; Dean Reynaldo S. Bautista of Saint Louis University – Baguio City, Vice President – Luzon; Fr. Mark Matthew of University of San Carlos – Cebu City; Vice President – Visayas; Dr. Hermani Carillo of Davao College, Vice President – Mindanao, Dean Felix Asperer, of Philippine Women’s University, President-Elect; Dean Avelina C. Bucao of Polytechnic University of the Philippines – Manila; Secretary, Dean Cristin G. Gallato of Saint Mary’s University, Assistant Secretary; Dean Rudy S. M. Garcia of La Consolacion College – Manila, Treasurer; Ramon E. Woo, Jr. of Trinity University of Asia – Quezon City, Assistant Treasurer and Dean Nelson S. Abelada of University of Manila, Dr. Noe Buncalan of Aklan Catholic College, Dr. Armando L. Magsino of San Sebastian College – Recoletos, Dr. Norberto V. Rayupa of Christian College of Tanauan, Directors.

PCDEB aims to upgrade accountancy, office administration/secretarial education that shall encourage critical and creative thinking and the ability to respond to changes brought about by the dynamic environment of business, to encourage scientific research, to improve the quality of instruction of business educators, and to establish networks and strategic alliances with other professional associations in the Philippine and abroad.
